There is a new movie starring Drew Barrymore and Justin Long (the Mac guy) about long distance relationships called “Going the Distance”. The movie comes out on Friday (Sept 3rd) in North America.
Might be a fun thing for you and your partner to go see the movie in your respective cities? Then you can talk about what (if any!) truths there are to the movie together afterward? I’m will be seeing it – and will let you know my thoughts!

Wanting to send some creative gifts to your partner? How about doing one of the following:
1) Make your partner a scrapbook. If you have memorabilia lying around from your relationship, why not pull it together into something more fun – like a scrapbook. Collect together pictures, ticket stubs and other stuff and make a memorable gift for your partner
2) Send your partner some kisses – the chocolate kind. You can also re-wrap them with your own personal message inside. If your partner prefers the chocolate of M&Ms, then order M&M candies personalized!
3) Next time you send something to your partner, make it float. Get a big box, get 2 helium balloons, tie the balloons onto the gift, put the balloons and the gift int the box. Make sure to write lots of warnings on the box (this side up, do not puncture, etc) and when they open it your gift will float right out of the box. Kinda fun!
Meet me halfway
Posted on 26. Mar, 2010 by lisa in Creative/Fun Ideas, Distance Factors
Depending on how far apart you live from each other, here is an idea to cut your travel time in half. Meet your partner halfway! Look at a map, find something (anything!) that is about halfway between you and your partner. Thus, if you live 4 hours away from your partner – travel time gets cut to only two hours! You can have a motel rendezvous, check out some touritsty stuff, or just a dinner date.
(sorry for couples who live a flight away… this won’t really help you out).
Happy Valentine’s Day!

Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day!
If you haven’t planned anything special, its not too late. You don’t need anything dramatic – just something to let them know that you think they are the greatest. Some ideas:
- List their best qualities. Tell them what they are on the phone or put them in an email.
- Think about your top 5 favorite times together. Reminisce about them with your partner.
- Is there a movie/art show/event you know your partner wants to see that is going on now? Call one of their single friends and ask them to bring your partner to the event. They will both enjoy it.
- Create your own Valentines Day madlibs. Have your partner fill it in.
More ideas. In general, just make sure your partner knows how much you appreciate them.

Valentines day is quickly approaching! (Its on Sunday February 14th for those of you who are wondering…). Even if you live far away from your partner there are still lots of ways to show you care!
- Email Valentines: Start today… and send your partner an e-Card (or even just an email with some fun images you created) everyday til Valentines day .
- Plan a wakeup call for Valentine’s morning, ensuring that the first words your lover hears on Valentine’s Day are either “I love you,” or “I had a dream about you last night…”
