I think the big thing is knowing that there going to be problems going in - then at least when the problems happen you are both (hopefully!) open minded about communicating things! I think its different if you are both moving to a new place or if one of you is moving into the home where the other already lives. I think things are more complicated when one person is used to their house being theirs and this person moves in and starts changing things... When I moved, I also found it really important to try to find my own life (friends, social activities, etc) rather than just taking over my partners life and then being dependant on them.
