Serial long distance dating

I have a confession. I’m a serial LDRer. I got out of one long distance relationship (LDR), and then got right back into another one. And you know what? My ex also is doing long distance right now.
Is this just me? And him? Or is there something to this type of relationship that some people just seem to take to? Or is it that people are moving around so much now that it just happens? Have you been in more than one LDR?
Funny – my past two relationships were LDRs. Then I finally found someone local to date – but it’s managed to become a LDR! Figures!
One wonders if it’s a trend among ambitious folks: couples who rank their work/education as a being high priority might be more willing to make some sacrifices in their relationship (both the one leaving AND the one staying put as they might be more understanding as to why the other one wants to leave)
Having been in a long-distance relationship in the past myself (she did her Master’s in another province as I did mine locally), it looks like I’ll be going into a new one shortly as my new girlfriend eventually does a placement abbroad.
Both very ambitious chicks: both LDRs.
I mean, Tiger’s been on the road for years… I’d be curious to know how he made it work for so long.
